Junk food is known as a pejorative term which describes food that is high in calories from fat or sugar, with less fiber, vitamins, protein and minerals. It can also be referred to high protein stuff such as meat prepared with saturated fat. Experts also tell that it can be referred as food high in fat, salt and sugar which is extremely harmful for health. Fast food eateries or fast food restaurants are often in demand because of junk food, although fast food is not categorically described as junk food.
Why we should avoid junk food?
As we all know the truth about junk foods and it needs no introduction. However, it is a most interesting question, why everyone likes to eat junk foods even after knowing its truth. Nowadays every one of us is enjoying well the taste of junk food because it is delicious, affordable and readily available; junk food has no nutritional value and essential ingredients required for the health. It is very harmful to the health if consumed on regular basis. It causes a spike in body energy level and creates sleeping disorder. It reduces level of concentration and calls to chronic disease such as obesity, hormonal imbalances, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc and sometimes death as well.
Junk food become very oily and lack of dietary fibers thus it is hard to digest and requires more energy to digest and requires more energy to perform the process from body and makes a person lack of oxygen level in the body which leads towards improper brain functioning. Junk food is high in bad cholesterol and causes heart and liver damage. Because of lack of dietary fibers it causes strain to the stomach and other digestive organs and result in constipation.

- Fatigue and lack the energy, since these foods contain little amount of proteins, vitamins and minerals.
- Obesity; higher intake of fat and sugar lead to decreased intake of healthy food choices, thus leading to obesity.
